Trading safety
Read this once. It takes two minutes and saves houses.
How a trade works here
- A seller posts photos of their house and says what they want for it.
- A buyer sends an offer: pets (with Neon / Mega and Fly / Ride), or one of their own houses.
- If the seller accepts, both sides see each other's Roblox username.
- The trade itself happens inside Adopt Me, using the FOR TRADE sign.
- Both sides mark the trade as completed here, and both earn a point.
The five rules
1. HouseTradery never holds your items
We are a board where offers meet houses. Nobody here can hold, escrow or transfer a pet or a house. Anyone telling you otherwise is scamming you.
2. Never trade off-site
If someone asks you to move to Discord, to a website, or to "a middleman", stop and report them. There is no reason to leave the game to trade a house.
3. Never go first
Adopt Me's trade window shows both sides at once. Use it. If someone asks you to hand over pets and "trust them" for the house afterwards, it is a scam.
4. Check the trade window twice
Look at every pet, its variant, and the potions. A common trick is swapping a Neon Fly Ride pet for a normal one right before accepting.
5. We never ask for your password
Not your Roblox password, not a login link, not a cookie, ever. Verification only ever asks you to paste a public phrase in your own profile description.
Why there is no free chat
Every reply on HouseTradery is picked from a fixed list of phrases. That means nobody can send you a link, a Discord tag, a phone number or anything nasty — it is simply not possible, not just discouraged. It is a small constraint that removes an entire category of scams.
Points
Points only come from trades where both sides confirmed. They cannot be bought or farmed alone. A trader with points and a Verified badge has proved both that they own their Roblox account and that they finish their trades.
The three badges
- Verified Anyone can earn it: paste a phrase in your Roblox profile and we read it back. It proves the account is theirs — nothing more, and nothing about how they trade.
- Creator A content creator we recognised. It is not a recommendation: check their points and their trade history exactly like anyone else's.
- Founder The people who run HouseTradery. There are only two, and they are named on the Credits page. We never message you in game, never ask for your pets, and never ask for your password.
A badge never appears on an unverified account — the site will not let it. So if someone shows you a screenshot of a gold badge, or claims to be staff without one, they are not.
Report anything odd
Every listing, profile and offer has a Report button. Reports are private, reviewed by our team, and a listing with several reports is hidden automatically while we look at it.
Confirmed reports
When our team reviews a report and finds it justified, the member carries a 2 confirmed reports mark, visible on their profile and next to their houses. It tells you to be careful before trading with them.
Reporting someone does not mark them. Only a report a human has read and upheld ever counts. A report waiting in the queue counts for nothing, and one we judge unfounded counts for nothing and leaves no trace. Nobody can stain a rival by reporting them, alone or with friends — and reporting in bad faith is itself something we act on.
